Walrond Jackson

William Walrond Jackson (1810–1895〔''Obituary- The Bishop Of Antigua'' The Times Tuesday, 26 Nov 1895; pg. 6; Issue 34744; col C〕) was Bishop of Antigua from 1860〔''The Bishopric Of Antigua'' The Times Tuesday, 3 Apr 1860; pg. 9; Issue 23584; col C〕 to 1879.
He was the son of William Jackson of Macclesfield in England, and Mary Judith Walrond. He was educated at Codrington College Barbados and ordained in 1834.〔"The Clergy List, Clerical Guide and Ecclesiastical Directory" London, Hamilton & Co 1889〕 After a curacy at Holy Trinity, Trinidad, he held incumbencies in St Vincent and Barbados. From 1846 to 1860 he was Chaplain to the Forces when he ascended to the Episcopate. He resigned through ill health in 1879. He died at home in Ealing.〔(New York Times )〕 Jackson's son, the Revd William became Rector of Exeter College, Oxford.
